Certified Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery Coder (CCVTC) Course

The cardiovascular system is responsible for transporting blood throughout the body. It is, as you know, focused in the heart, which has four chambers: the right atrium, left atrium, right ventricle, and left ventricle. Blood flows into the heart through the atriums and out through the ventricles. The left atrium and ventricle circulate oxygenated blood throughout the body, while the right atrium and ventricle circulate deoxygenated blood to the lungs, where it is oxygenated. Blood returns from the lungs to the heart after being oxygenated, where it is pumped through the arteries. In turn, veins transport deoxygenated blood back to the heart. The human body is crisscrossed by veins and arteries that effectively mimic one another. Diagrams of vein and artery systems, as well as guidelines, are given at the front of the cardiovascular part. The two venae cavae (plural: vena cava) are the most significant veins in the body, returning blood to the heart (via the right ventricle). The aorta is the most essential artery, running along the body’s trunk.
